The meeting place that holds everything!

In the middle of central Västervik, next to the travel center, you will find this beautiful building from 1871 which served as prison until 2007.

The prison Hotell & Konferens is run by Kenth Carlsson with staff and offers unique accommodation as well as conference facilities in the old prison environment.


The prison Hotell & Konferens vision is to offer a meeting place where everyone will feel welcome.


Prison Hotell & Konferens currently has 43 rooms with a total of 100 beds. Their rooms range from single cells to large family rooms with 5 beds. All their guests have access
their hostel kitchen.

In the ground floor's hotel corridor you have the opportunity to see our permanent exhibition about prison history and Swedish prosecution service. They also have a permanent exhibition about old breweries that have been found in Västervik.

At the outer courtyard there are our boule courses as the newly established club Tjust Pétanque Club has as its home theater. The club has had a very good start with series tours in 2014 and 2015. There are also plenty of free parking spaces.
